Exclamation Rear-Drive Shaft Broke- Now What?

Hello all. You have all helped numerous times and now I am back to ask for more help. I passed down my yj to my brother and his driveshaft broke on the highway....i do not know much about "proper names" but give me the part and a box of tools and i can put it back together.

that becomes a problem when ordering parts though..i am unsure of what i actually need... i have looked online and there are TONS of different kinds of driveshafts...for sye kits, for yoke to yoke,,s,x,xc, xb..you get the point.
i would love some help determining the actual parts i need. thank you all

2.5, 5-speed manual, about 4inch lift, dana 35 rear

(23 inches)

at the very least, you need a new u-joint
it may have failed from the 4" lift without an sye
the slip yoke looks bad but the driveshaft might be reusable, but it may just happen again

is that bailing twine holding up the muffler?

Anything more than 3.5 inch lift. SYE is a must for 3.5 or bigger. ( some people would say no needed to add SYE between 3.5 and 4 inch lift.) Since your driveshaft is shot. I would spend money on SYE set up and drive with peace of mind and feel no more vibration!

While u at it. Make sure you get non grease u joints. It will last longer than grease u joints.

From the looks of the pics you should be able to replace just the u joints.
