rear hitch bumper

Are the rear bumpers that have a hitch safe for towing anything. I am considering getting one because I like the looks of a double tube bumper and I want some more protection for the rear of my jeep. My only concern is that they bolt to the flimsy rear crossmember in place of the bumperettes. That crossmember is only attached to the frame by two bolts. Is this going to be safe enough to tow a small trailer with 3-4 dirtbikes?

i bent that crossmember like the first time i used it its more for pulling your jeep out of something then pulling something with your jeep shop around ive seen ones that bolt to the frame and they sell a support that bolts to the frame and that cross member you have to drill holes threw the frame be careful not to poke a hole in the gas tank............cameron

You can get a Class III tow hitch for about $175 which comes with all the hardware to bolt it to the frame. That has real towing capacity. Spend the money and do it right the first time. You don't want to watch your dirt bikes going down the road (or off the embankment) still on the trailer.
