removing 3" body lift on 91 wrangler?

I bought a 91 Wrangler with 3" body lift, I want to go to a 1" lift and buy the complete kit. I never installed a lift so is there any certain way I should do this. Looks like it would be easy to lift but lowering looks like its a bit harder.

same as installing a body lift. loosin bolts. jack up one side remove then replace pucks. install bolts on that side but do not completely tighten. lift other side and repeat. lower jeep and tighten bolts. carefull of the fan blade and shroud, may have been altered for a 3" body lift.

I was going to do this too but it turned into a $900 project. Check to make sure that your brake lines haven't been replaced to longer lengths like mine were (the hard lines)

I'm planning the same thing. Just waiting til I can afford the new suspension lift...could be a while. Also, it's my DD and can't live too long w/o it.
Keep us posted. When I finally do it, I want to do it right. Hoping to learn as you go...good luck!

I am also thinking about removing my body lift, when I bought it it had a two inch body lift, but the rear part of the body was cut out so he could get to the bolts he said?? Glad to see I wont have to cut out my newly welded in pieces to get back to it

some good info, never thought about the fan and blade. I have a 4" Suspension lift, 3"body (hopefully to 1" soon) and a 2" shackle lift.
I just took off the 12.5x33.5 Pro Comp Mudders and put on 9.5x30 Wrangler all terrains and what a big difference. Actually I can feel like I can go on the highway and do 70 and as before couldnt even do 55 and that was in 4th to keep the revs up. Thats why I need to take the 3" lift so too take out that big gap with the smaller tires.

how'd it go removing the 3" lift? Just got a 98 wrangler, which has 35" tires and a 3" body lift. I'm getting ready to order 15x8 wheels with 31x 10.5 tires, and I'll have to do the same thing, run into any problems? not sure what to "leave" when I remove the lift kit, there's some parts that have bushing and washers, and I don't know what came stock, unless I just replace with a 1" kit and leave it at that, then move onto suspension lift should I want/need it.
