replace jack brackets

YJ had a nice widowmaker jack on it when I bought it..I work at a high school in a high traffic part of the city and didn't want it to end up through my windshield...I removed it, but don't like the look of the brackets just sitting there...any ideas ? I could remove them but don't want holes in the hood...suggestions?

put the bolts back in after you remove the brackets..they also make black plastic as well as chrome hole plugs that snap in,if you can find any that small

I still dont get why you removed it. If it were to fly off, which it probably wouldnt, it would go forward assuming you hit something. It would only come backwards if you got rear ended, and you would have to get hit so hard that jack would be the least of your worries.

Swap to a 4BT diesel in the future? Most likely.

I'm not concerned about it flying off and I certainly understand the physics as to which direction would make it hot the windshield. The PO had a horesshit looking jack that was stuck on with bungee cords and looked ridiculous.

No need to get heated.. just saying my opinion as I love having my hi-lift up on my hood. You also said your jack was a "nice widowmaker" so i assumed it was a good condition jack. I am aware of the slang term "widowmaker" so maybe it was all sarcasm. Sorry!
