Replacing body mount bolt?

So, while installing a Auto Rust safety cap on the right frame rail at the rear shackle mount, the body mount bolt snapped, and it looks like it's a blind hole in the tub it goes in to. Is there a trick to installing a new one, or do I need to cut a hole in my tub's floor to access the rear of the hole?

Good question, I'm doing the same exact thing right now with the saf-t-caps on my 95 yj. the bolt won't budge on mine with an air wrench....Driller(may be an appropriate name to go by for this problem)

On mine, I cut out a small window from the bottom on the mount up right under the rounded corner. Then took out the little tapped metal block. Made a new tapped metal block, put it back in. Put antisieze on the bolt. The bent the window back down and welded it shut. Painted with under coat. You can't see it normally and even if your right under there if I did not tell you about it you might not notice it. I did leave a small hole unwelded for a "drain".

Both of my rear body mount bolts snapped. I took my angle grinder and cut an access hole from the side, on top of the area hidden by the plastic shield in the corners. I hammered up on the stud from the bottom and the tapped metal block the stud is threaded into broke off the sheet metal it was welded to. I was then able to fish it out my access hole and I replaced it with a nut and a big washer. I didn't bother to weld my access holes back closed, they're hidden by the plastic shield anyway.

Can I safely drive with that one body mount missing? I'll replace it eventually, but I'm pretty tired of working on the Jeep right now.

Basically the same thing I did. Mine doesn't have the plastic anymore so thats why I closed mine up a bit.

I did mine the same. Up underneath where no one can see. I just used a fender washer then a nylock nut on a bolt to replace the tpped metal block.

I would fix it now. It takes 2 minutes to cut with an angle grinder with a cut off wheel, 2 minuted to install a new bolt. 30 seconds to bend the metal flap back up. You can even forget welding it and it should be fine. Oh, add 5 minutes between each step for a beer and the project is done.
