replacing flat springs and lifting question

I am tired of seeing my flat springs (I mean flat strait as a board) on my 91 and a lil nervous about axle wrap, so while I replace the springs I'm going to throw a 2 or 2.5 inch lift, now my question is everyone is trying to sell me a bunch of BS along with them, what is essential that needs to be upgraded? My initial thought was that as long as my brake lines have plenty of travel I'm good, esp with such a small lift. The price difference for just springs with hardware is about 500.00 bucks more. Yeah I'm cheap but stuff like ubots don cost 20 bucks a pop.

91 eh?

Be prepared for cutting bolts out of the leafs with a die grinder or saw-zaw. As well, you may need a set of torches handy.

I appreciate the fore warning sevenservice, I don't think ill have any major problems like that, my puppys pretty clean, hardest bolt/nut iv dealt with was on my sway bar, and in that case I presoaked it with some Amsoil products, works every time! So how's yours flex?

Rough Country is pretty decent. I won't buy any suspension parts, or tires from procomp. In my honest opinion, it's all a bunch of junk.

I know it might be clean, but I suggest buying an angle grinder ahead of time.

Is your question can you buy just 2" lift springs and simply install them or do you need an entire lift kit? I've been wondering the same thing since you can find lift springs used but rarely/never used complete lift kits.

Yeah I'm wondering if there will be anything more needed than the springs.......... and we will see you forget to look at my location I'm in southern california and the jeep was a virgin to "offroad" before I got ahold of it, I will post up pics and a thread when I do the lift, I may seem cocky but I have faith in my lil YJ.........
