Right position for boomerangs

I just put inch and a quarter rough country boomerang shackles on my jeep and my have them upside down. I have the open end facing out but is the short side supposed to be on the top or bottom. Thanks.

I have mine there to but my friend is telling me the short side goes up, does it really matter I dunno???

I was under the impression the short side went up, to act as a stop when it hits the frame.

Referencing this pic here:

in this thread:

Looking at the front, it appears he has the short side up, but has it down in the rear...

Perhaps 183Beast can verify how and why he has his this way.

Short side goes down. You DON"T want it hitting the frame, it's not like a bumpstop.

You are right....boom shackles point to the center of the Jeep.

Like the TJ flares, been thinking about going that route.

Short side up in the front(prevents shackle inversion) and short side down in the rear for frame and bumper clearance when compressed.
