Roll Bar Cover/pad and Sound Bar

I see most wranglers have roll bar covers
Do you think they are for looks?or function

I removed mine and like the look

Also the sound bar is sticking out front, Has anyone
moved it behind the roll bar?I am keeping it off for now

I also removed all the stickers

I am sure there is a purpose for the padding. If you are to be unlucky enough to be involved in a wreck, your arms/legs or head will feel much better hitting a padded bar rather than steel.

i think the padding is there for both looks and function. it does provide a little cushion if you hit it. as for the sound bar, i'm sure that you can move it to the back. tj's have their sound bars in the rear. once when we were off roading in my hubby's yj we hit a bump and i flew up into the air ans smacked my head on the sound bar. i really wished it was in the back that day.

No it has flat springs and old stock shocks

look that way I think

the padding is there for your protection. so are those seat belts. put them on and you won't lift enough to hit your head.

it would be a big pain to move the sound bar onto the back bars. you'd have to drill new holes and use cheap sheet metal screws. they wouldnt be as secure or last as long as the proper threaded holes in the horizontal bars.

also, that setup is fully dangerous. the horizontal bars are an integral part of the structural integrity. prob illegal too.

Hey bud
Def not illegal,
I ride around town with my windshield down alot
so the horiz bars are attached to nothing anyway.
plus cj and early yj roll bars dont go to the windshield

With the shield down those bars look real DUMB
even the sound bar looks out of place
look at first pic the sound bar is not on the cross bar
its a 12-14'' extention that connects to bar
so I can go shield down
I only ride with shield down around town
so I am not going to flip it over HA
I am just using the dash speaker LOL

if you just turn it 180 (around for civilians) and the holes should line up. should'nt need to cut anything.

my sound bar has to half circle brackets in middle which bolt to middle of roll bar. there is no way those bolts will go in without cutting my new pads.
