Cool rough idle and stalling

Hey...im getting closer to figuring it out.my 2.5 l wrangler runs great till I turn on the headlights then it starts running rough and sometimes stalls when u push the clutch in. Then I turn headlights of and it clears up.sounds electrical to me but what?

Bad Alternator, can't keep up with the current draw. Maybe also loading the engine if it has bad bearings.

Bad Battery, possibly but the Alternator should compensate.

The only other thing I can think of is a short to ground in the Headlight wiring that is drawing a ton of current when the lights are on.

rough idle

Yes it acts like it is starving for fuel. It doesn't do it every time. However it will sometimes act up with just the parking lights on.

Also check the Ground cable from the battery to the engine.

If the charging system checks out OK, I'd look at the headlights, start with the switch, it may be bad and drawing more than alternator can provide. I believe in these jeeps the switch carries the whole load and there is no relay.....Does the switch get hot?
