Hey I'm having minor problem of rough starting on my 89 jeep wrangler.
It is 4.2 6 cylinder with the previous guy taking the factory carbs off and putting aftermarket carbs on.
Every time I start this jeep it boggles down in 3 seconds. I have to give it about 3 pumps before starting and it will start with that and idle really low. I have to slowly give it more gas and than it will idle above 1000 rpms.
From there it starts and runs just fine. It only has problem starting when it sits like for about 5 hours like at work.
I'm not a mechanic and know very little about engines but seems to me it has to be carb problems, but again it is an old jeep and is it something I just have to live with?
I think if I have to pump gas before starting, that means the carbs not getting enough gas in the begining to me or am I wrong?
Any help would be appreciated
