Rust?

Okay well I got some rust on the new jeep.

2 spots, one on each side, under/behind both doors.
I have replacement panels for them so not worried.

But the rust also spreads inside on each side on the floor, I need a cheap fix?
I can buy the floor pans, their only around 45$ on ebay, but I'm not sure if the "REAR" floor pan is behind the seats or if its referring to under the rear seat?

Heres a link to the pan:

87'-95' Jeep YJ Wrangler Rear Floor Pan 0480-228: eBay Motors (item 160398973475 end time Oct-24-10 09:46:37 PDT)

Also I the same rust spreads a little bit on the inside wheel well, which isn't bad at all, but still needs to be fixed.

Anyone know how i'd replace that? Is there a replacement panel made for them?

I got a welder that agreed to do the work, just need to hurry and order them floor pans.

Pictures of the damage?

POR15 may work to stop future rust. I plan on painting everything eventually.

Well, I'll go snap pictures right now, they'll be up in 5mins so be on the look out.

And i've never needed a welder, but I thought they were really expensive.
The guy said 30$ an hour, which seemed cheap? no sure.

Also would like to hear an estimate on how much a body shop would probably charge, and how long this would take.

Going to get pictures brb.

I have a 1999 TJ that the passenger floor board has rusted.

The amount of time and effort that I am spending to get it fixed
I now think I should have just bought a body Tub that is rust free
and install that.....

I'm sure you could get one down there for around that....the further north you go the more they bring obviously. I really feel that your gonna eat up alot of man hours fixing what you have there....and that's what you can see. Keep in mind that what you can't see off hand most of the time is way worse.

Yeah it would actually be more expenive I think in the long run, trying to patch. Especially if you cant do the entire job ( can you?) If so itll be cheaper.

Youd need to cut out the rust, weld in new metal sand it grind it down, and paint. And if there is any under the jeep and in tight areas it will be a pain. I'm not sure what a YJ tub goes for.

I can't seem to find one. I found one for 500$ for frame and tub with title. But he said someone told him to hold it for a few days for 750 so waiting on a reply.

Yes, thats where I live lol.
I'm on CL 24/7

I've looked everywhere within 100miles.
I hope this guy doesn't buy that tub though.

Also when replacing a tub do you need to have the title for it?? Or do you use the one for the jeep?

I'd agree with the new tub idea, especially since all that diamond plate was probably put on to cover up some pretty bad rust. If it was me I'd stay away from a glass tub, get a steel one and have it painted and line-x'd underneath.
Also check your frame and see if there is any rot on that, if there is you might just want to cut your losses and sell the Jeep for a cleaner one.

Already have it back on CL, whats some opinions on the value?
Besides the rust, everything works right, Engine was wired and swapped well.
100k on odom, 20k on motor
Also like I said I have the 2 major replacement panels, but that won't do much.
Also have more rollbar to complete the rear rollbar

The guy had it on CL for 6500, I suppose its not worth that, but whats an ideal price I might be able to get?
