Rusted/Broken Rear Upper Shock Mount

Hey guys

I just realized my rear upper shock mount is all rusted and broken and I'm trying to find a weld on replacement for it.
-Quadratech only has 1 but... it says it only fits up to a 1981 year
Original Replacement Parts 8126587 - Front Shock Mount Bracket for 76-81 Jeep® CJ - Quadratec
I have a 1992 YJ

Has any one used this one, or know if it would work on my YJ as a weld on replacement.

Are there any other Weld-on Replacement Shock mounts?

Any other input or help would be apreaciated

You will probably have to fab up something simply because I think you will find the frame in that area is probably about gone too. That area had to have been one of Jeeps stupider moments if you ask me. A big metal pocket to catch crap and rot out. When I built up my frame I welded covers over the pocket to close it up an keep that from happening.

i have the same problem, the passenger rear shock mount is destroyed along with the frame, i was thinking of cutting off the mount, welding a plate onto the frame. and getting a new mount welded on. only problem is i cant find the shock mount. the one you listed is for a cj although im sure it doesnt matter

Looks like some fabrication in your future. Have you looked on eBay or some junkyards for donor pieces.

I had the same problem on a previous 94 I had. The real problem came when I tried to find a place to weld the new mount. The frame around that whole area was shot. Both sides. I got rid of it after that but I should have kept it. Who knew I would buy another, I would love to have a parts jeep off in the woods.
