seatbelt light stays on

I have a 93 YJ and the seatbelt light stays on all the time while driving even if both seatbelts are in use. Does anyone know of how to disable the light or fix it for that matter, I'm tired of looking at it

I'm almost positive that only the driver's side belt has the switch in it. I'd check the connector under the seat to make sure it's plugged in and that the wires are in good shape. All it does is complete the circuit when the belt is buckled in. To disable it just pull the bulb from the dash. It's like what 8 screws if that. Or if you don't feel like doing that you could throw some electrical tape over it.

ha I like the electrical tape idea but I will look into the seat thing first then if I can't see anything there I will go for the bulb.

ok took off the dash panel and ended up taking the seatbelt bulb out so now the light does not stay on. I think the seats in the jeep are not the original so I could not find a place to plug in under the seat.

Sorry I didn't mean under the drivers seat cushion, I meant on the floor under the drivers seat. The wires should go right into where the seat belt buckle is bolted to the floor. The connector is roughly right under the middle of the seat on the floor. But if you took out the bulb then it fixed you're problem.
