Setting timing after Nutter Bypass - 90 YJ

Hey all -

Did the Nutter on my 90 YJ 4.2L I6. I had installed the Motorcraft 2100 a while ago and FINALLY got around to doing the Nutter.

I have read that you should set your timing to 8 degrees BTDC. My question is - at what RPM? Curb idle? 1600?

Thanks

I followed the direction on the timing gun which was 1600 rpm at idle my gun would not even show anything . At 1600 it lined it all up and was easy to set . I may have done it wrong yet my YJ runs slot better now with carb and nutter .
