Shackle and body lift

Hey all.

So the time has come to finally install my 1 inch body lift and 1 1/4 shackle lift (they were free). What I'm wondering is, should I expect that I'll need longer break lines, etc. And do you guys have any complaints about these? They're daystar. It's my DD and I really don't want to make the ride any less enjoyable. So if they totally suck I can skip them. Suggestions from fellow jeepers?

The body lift will have nothing to do with the brake lines. But, you have to watch other things like ground straps, fan shroud, etc. but only going up 1 inch shouldn't create any problems.

As far as the shackles, the stock shackles are 4 inches from bolt to bolt. If the lift shackles are a true 1 1/4" lift, they will be 6 1/2" long from bolt to bolt. An extended shackle gives you 1/2" of lift for every 1" of shackle above 4".

Even so, a 1 1/4" shackle lift is still no reason to extend the brake lines. No worries with them till you get above 2.5" on the suspension.

No need to extend brake lines. The amount of lift you get depends on the springs. A large shackle lift will cause the caster angle to be off and will cause bump steer.
Not to mention that the longer shackles really kill the approach angle.
