is a shackle reversal worth it? i am debating doing one for the improved handleing, but i dont see many people talk about doing them. my 92 will be a dd w/ 33' (eventually). i plan on doing a 1.24'' body lift, 1.5'' suspension lift, and debating the 1'' lift of a shackle reversal. just let me know what you think.
Its a nice upgrade. I've driven YJs done both ways (stock and flipped) the shackle reverse will create other issues though.
You may need longer brake lines and the drive shaft will be short.
I've also seen where the shackle flipped and bent a spring on a reverse set up.
Dont much like any shackle "lift" over 1/2"-3/4" it just creates more stuff to have to deal with.
Not trying to talk you out of it (its your Jeep after all) but a good 4" lift and 33s will give you a better set up.
One of the first mods I did on my YJ was a shackle reversal and it is still on my jeep in a modified form. I would do it again in a heart beat.
