shackles?

in the scheme of getting parts for my jeep i picked up some draystar 1 1/4" lift greasable shackles for the front. when i got the box i noticed there is only 2 shackles instead of all 4 for the front. I take it this is all thats needed to lift the front in this manner? also the directions aernt verry clear but they replace the front ones and the rear remain stock? or do i need to purchase another set to do both the front and rear shackles on the front springs? I havent gotten around to buying the rears yet but are they the same way? Thanx for any help but as many of you probably figured out already im quite new at this stuff and i am constantly learning something new.

Correct, they only replace the very front pair on the front springs. It has to do with the way the suspension (leaf springs) moves when you hit bumps in the road.

Yes you will have to purchase a set for the back if you wish to lift it also.

The rear of the spring pivots in a frame mount, only the front uses a shackle. If you you did the rear only the Rear of the rear spring will require the replacement shackle. Hopefully that makes sense.

yes this does make sence and is what i was figuring. however the directions didnt seem veery clear on this when i read through them. the directions i read gave directions to do the front shackle but no mention of the rear shackle was mentioned. I woulda thought there would be a note stating the rear shackle would stay stock or something but not even a mention that I saw. cpl other ?'s i got is considering the new shackles are greasable ones should i replace the original shackle bolts and whatnot in the remaining stock shackles with greasable ones? they will be taken off anyways as I am having this done during the frame swap on my jeep. Also hopefully sometime in the future i might do a suspension lift beyond the shackles. can i still use the lift shackles with the suspension lift or would that require i use the stock shackles? just want to make sure so as i dont let the old ones go in case i need them later on for this reason. If it doesnt matter with a susp lift ill probably let them go.

Won't the old shackles fit in that box of Jeep parts in the corner of your garage?
