Shackles install

Sorry new to suspension work I'm adding new shackles and I took the bolts out of the old one and the leaf spring is now up to high to install new one how do I get the spring to drop down enough, I tried jacking the frame up but that changed nothing do I have to disconnect both shackles at the same time or is there a special trick that the instructions are not telling me

Jack the frame up and that should take most of the load of. What I do is put a scissor jack in-between the spring and the frame. Careful it doesn't pop out on ya. This will get the spring down to where you need it or almost. It's not like a Ginger perfect job you have to yank and pull till the bolts go in. My old jeep I used a bar and my jeep now I used the jack. And no doesn't matter if only one is not connected. Once you get one in you'll fly through all the rest.
