Red face Shift Indicator Switch

Hello all,
I have a 92 YJ and like many others am experiencing a multitude of problems but none so far that I haven't managed to address and corrrect and many with help from this forum. (For that I say thank you) Now, my 4WD indicator light doesn't come on when shifted into 4WD. Now before you all refer me to other posts, I know the problem is what is referred to as the shift indicator switch (AKA Axle disconnect switch, Transmission range switch, and 4WD indicator switch). I disconnected the weather pac plug and shorted the leads and the light comes on, circuit ok. My question is, why is this switch is so difficult to find and why the little bugger costs so much?? ($200 from the dealer and the lowest online is $100) This switch screws into the 4wd motor housing on the front axle and has a red lead and black lead. ( Black lead broken off) Can anyone suggest a vender or a alternate fix or part to replace this thing? I know about the posilok, but I like the simple system of the vacuum set-up and I know you don't really need the light but this jeep is used by my wife as well and the light is something that can help prevent some "accidental" damage. I've attempted to attach a picture of the part, I hope you can see it. Anybody have any suggestions/ideas??? And thanks in advance.

You may be able to find one at your local salvage yard.
