I have a 1987 Jeep Wrangler that I bought for cheap.
The tranny is LOUD, so I suspected there was no fluid in the tranny.
I unscrewed the drain plus from the manual transmission and WATER came out. No oil at all.
So now I want to change the tranny, transfer case, and rear differential fluids.
When I was under the Jeep I noticed that the Skid Plate supports the rear of the tranny and transfer case. is this true??
In order for me to get to the drain/fill bolts of the transfer case it seems like I need to take off the skid plate. But how do I take the skid plate off if it is suppose the transmission??
Is there DIY to change the fluid in the transfer case??
