Small leak in the exhuast manifold what does that cost to fix

I found another renegade and the owner says that there is a small leak in the exhaust manifold. He says that the engine is a little louder than it should be, no need to fix right away. How much does this cost to fix and is this a major problem? thanks

i wouldnt say this is a major problem, but it is a common one i think. I had two pretty big cracks in mine (94) and had to replace the whole manifold, but i think you can get smaller ones welded. i think thats more of a band aid, but like i said, i dont think it's a major problem. i dunno how much welds cost, but i think my new manifold cost me about $150-$200.. can't remember exactly

I just bought an OE replacement from Quadratec for 165.XX shipped. Also got the new gasket as well. A much better alternative to welding a hole.

I've got a '98 with a hole in the exhaust manifold. She's also only getting 9mpg (and she is still pretty much stock so I can't think of any reason that'd be happening). I was thinking about replacing the upstream O2 sensor at the same time, does anyone have any other recommendations on what to do since I'm going to replace the exhaust manifold anyway? any jobs I could do to increase my gas mileage again (the old owner was getting much better mileage and I only got it from him a month ago. I know him, so I know he wasn't making it up)...

ANY HELP'd be great!

Long tube headers are the only new headers i'd get. At least spend a bit more but make it worth a while and replace it with better (instead of stock).

Yeah, I hijacked it, but I didn't think I should go start another thread about the same thing!
