So I pulled the trigger on the e-fan upgrade, this is what I got

I bought a Ford Taurus 3.8 fan brand new and all the parts to hook up. Here is what I got so far and I wanted to ask if I am missing anything??

-Ford Taurus 3.8 fan
-50 amp breaker
-2 - 50 amp relays
-Adjustable Thermostat
-3 point toggle switch

I personally despise those fixed wire adjustable thermostats, but looks like you are all set.

Dam, a thread probe, that is so much better... where does this hook up??

Oh, Does anyone know if the toggle switch has to be 50 amp as well?

I used the volvo relay setup and have no problems with it... If I had to do it over again, I'd choose the same thing

The switch is fine. You run the current thru the relays. The switch is just trigger. Milliamp draw...

Where did you buy everything and what was your cost? I'm thinking about doing the same efan upgrade...

Here is exactly what I got form Amazom or Ebay. I used ebay and found all these parts.

15-50A AUTO RESET In-Line CIRCUIT BREAKER 12V dc

3 UNIVERSAL 50AMP 5 PIN RELAY KIT FOR ELECTRIC COOLING FAN
This kit comes with 3 so I have an extra out on the trail.

OEM Part Number: F4DZ 8C607CA FORD TAURUS 3.8L 91 92 93 94 95

Flex-a-lite 31147 Adjustable Fan Switch

and a 3 pole 50 amp switch

I did hella research and this is what people are running. Good 8 gauge wire and some 4 gauge as well.


Oh, total cost was 155$ but everything is Brand New, even the fan

should have went with a Ford Contour or Mercury Mystique dual fan instead... fits a yj radiator better, i am hopefully picking one up next weekend for the wife's jeep
