Long story short what's a better option for this two below. On a 91 4.0 5 speed 4.10 gears on 35x12.5x15 KM2's. Collection of parts here and not sure best way to clear 35's without going just silly on height and making best softest ride we can (excluding shock decision for now). Axles are high pinion Dana 30 and 8.8 LSD disc rear axle
1- SOA with stock springs and use maybe a 1" (2" longer shackle) and perhaps a 1" body lift? Keeps soft stock spring and then with new body lift we could do a motor mount lift to help with angles. Also with new body lift it is replacing the stock clapped out worn body mints already. Fenders are trimmed a little just on the flares. No sway or track bars. Will 35's be ok like this or even without body lift?
2- SOA again bud with the BDS 2" springs I have here in like new condition. Use stock shackles probably to help from the fangs in the front. No body lift or anything for this matter cause they clear fine. However I feel these springs are a little stiffer. Is it worth just yanking a couple leafs out to soften up and allow more flex or not worth it.
Or you could get waggy springs. They give a 2 inch lift as well as stretch the wheelbase. Youd use front springs on the rear and the front of your jeep. It will stretch the front 2 inches and the rear 2 inches. With tj flares in the rear mounted correctly some people wouldnt even be able to tell its stretched. On top of that the longer wheelbase would help out with the ride.
Theres a thread on here that has a write up on it and the guy didnt do to much work either. I might be going this route myself.
I used the Rubicon Express 1.5in SOA spring. They work very well, with them and my fenders I can clear 40's. At first I used stock springs with 2in lift shackles but I bent two of them into an S shape. I too used the long add a leaf but still managed to bend them. Second I tried 2in SUA springs they were stiff and provided very little flex. 1.5in soa springs plus stock fenders 36's no problem.
