Soft top hardware questions

1995 Jeep Wrangler

OEM style soft top (brand new, no brand name)

I have the hardware to a Best Top (and not sure if I have all the pieces).
The Best Top soft top I have is trashed, ripped, zippers shot. That's why I bought a new top.

I know I need a hardware set to connect the OEM top to the Jeep, but, are the frames on the doors only for the Best Top or will they work on the OEM top?

Can I get a frame set that will work with both full and half doors, or do I have to buy different sets?

Is there a book / manual that tells me every single piece of hardware I should have (including pictures :-) for the OEM and Best Top soft tops, so I know if I am missing anything or if something I do have is broken?

I am so lost. If you could help, I would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks so much!!

The OEM top will not work with the bestop hardware as far as I know. Who did you buy the OEM top from?

It depends on what Bestop you have. They have OEM replacement tops and other tops as well.

My mom bought the jeep for my son years ago used, so I don't have any idea what type of best top I have. Is there some place on the top I can look?

You can check Bestop's website, they have pictures of the hardware for each type of top that you can compare with what you have. Btw, Bestop is the OEM supplier of soft tops for Jeeps, so chances are it was a Bestop replacement skin, unless a PO put a supertop or sunrider top on it.

Ok I took a few pictures......the brown is the Best Top and the black is the new one OEM (I guess) replacement top I just bought.

I am 'assuming' that the reason why the black OEM top's corner is elongated more than the brown Best Top, is because the brown is stretched on the hardware, and the black will do the same.....

Do these pictures help explain what I have?

The brown top is definitely not OEM. Most likely a supertop. They use a completely different frame and bow setup than OEM.

So.....the black replacement soft top will not fit onto the doors and such that now have the brown Best Top on it?

Does this mean I have to buy all new doors? Or is it as easy as some different hardware that attaches to the old doors to accommodate the new black soft top?

YOU have been so patient and helpful.Thank you

You basically need a complete hardware setup for factory style top. Go to quadratec or Morris 4x4 and use there soft top advisor.

Is there a place / book / catalog that show exactly what hardward I need for the Best Top and for the OEM top?

I am looking for something that is so kindergarten.....

"You need 3 of these (and it has a photo of the thing and where to put it on the Jeep)
You need 3 of these things (and it too shows a photo of the hardware and where it belongs on the Jeep)"

I don't know what I have, what I don't have OR how to figure that out.
If I had a book or website or SOMETHING that showed me in photos what the hardware looked like AND where it belongs on the Jeep, I might be able to figure this out!!

Thank you so much!!
