Soft top question

I have a 94 with a besttop supertop. Can I fold up the top with the fabric on it and leave it on the jeep and drive it? The weather is warming up here in the daytime and it would be nice to go topless for a while.

Yeah. If you go to Bestop website, you used to be able to download the instruction sheets for the top you have and print em and keep em in your glove box.

Looked to me like you could, i figured just take out side windows, fold down top, and then roll it up and strap with the rear window roll straps. Is that about right?

Thanks Geoff. We have had great weather in South GA. The weekend was high 60's, to low 70's. Right now it has cooled back off to around 35, one thing about winter in south GA, if you don't like the temperature, just wait 15 minutes.

Sure thing. I drive with mine down all the time. Just make sure to tuck it in properly at the tailgate. I would strongly advise you not to unzip the back window, leave the plastic rail in that crosses the tail gate. Just release the corners, unclip the centre bar and follow the rest as you would normally do.

I guess my YJ is missing the part along the tail gate as there is nothing to hook the rear window to on the tail gate...... Anyone have a pic of this part or an idea of were I can get one?? My bakck window just hangs inside the gate now and man does it get wet when it rains.

Tim: There's a tailgate bar that spans across the the Jeep, right above the tailgate. It connects to the rear corner brackets on your YJ. You can buy it from just about any of the retailers.

That must be what I am missing. The center portion over the gate has nothing to hook onto and it just hangs there. Guess I better start looking around to try and find one of these brackets. Thanks Geoff

Geoff & Scott, I did the research on these parts and I DO have them mounted correctly on my YJ. The problem I have is the center of the rear window just hangs there and is normally on the inside of the gate allowing water inside the tub area. How does the center portion of the top secure to keep it outside the tub and keep the water out?? Right now it just hangs there.

I found out what is going on with the rain getting in. I called Bestop, when my top was installed the paint shop removed the seal from the long bracket and glued it to the rear gate. The seal now needs to be replaced and hopefully it will seal enough to keep out some rain. Bestop also said they should have replacement hardware for their tops sometime this spring that will help with the sealing of the rear gate. Thanks for all of your help.
