Some help with my 4x4 shifter

It's off my 1991 yj 2.5 l. 5 speed. Was freeing it up and the handle popped of and won't go on now. Should I just drill it out and put a bolt in it? Or is there a easier fix? Thanks

I just wrapped tape around mine and jammed it back on. I just remember to pull back and not up. I'll do the bolt thing when I have free time.

The metal clips are replaceable from the dealership. Ordered it plus the rubber that goes beneath it when I swapped shifters. It's cheap and doesn't come off when the new one is on.

I just squirted some silicone in it and stuck it back on, works perfect, cost $0.00
