Squeaking noise from Water Pump ... help

Jeep is 91 4.0 mtx. I have a squeaking noise coming from the WP at idle and on the road. I also noticed that my temp will go over the 210 degree then come back to 210 off and on. My rig almost never goes past the 210 mark, except in the summer w/ the a/c running. I replaced the WP and checked all my pulleys and tensors all spun great, belt is also in good shape. The old WP had a little hesitation when spinning but it spun, the new one spins nice. After the install I still get the same noise in the same spot. I'm thinking Fan Clutch, any help is greatly appreciated.

Do I have a Non-Thermal or Heavy Duity Thermal clutch? Mine has a spiring coil in the middle. Also should I replace only the clutch or the clutch/fan?

Clutch replaced, same noise same over heating. T-stat not stuck closed water is circulating. Temp reads hot but the radiator is cool.

Do you have a blockage in the rad? If the coolant is really circulating it should be cooling down.

I hate to be the one that scares you but uh... head gasket..... let her cool down pop the radiator cap start her up if you see a constant stream of bubbles, its time to break out the compression tester just to make sure......or go strait to the tester....

I just noticed the harmonic balancer was wobbling a bit, but I cant see how this would mess w/ my temp. I didn't notice any water in the oil and I have no bubbles in my water.

Can a bad Harmonic throw off my timing causing the high temp??

never heard of that before the only way I know of timing effecting tempurature is when your leaned out, I dont think the likely hood of a jeep leanin out like that though its usually run or dont run. if its not a stoppage, pump or bad temp guage its usually the head gasket, and not all the time will you find milky oil when they go sometimes they are cracked just enough to let heat in on the compression stroke, but you would be getting bubbles ya know? are you 100% its not the temp guage itself?

Doubt it but it would produce that squeaking noise by chewing on your belt and eventually would bust it (having it right now myself ) mine went bad after I changed the timing chain and they're damn expensive

Also, check the connections on the gauge and the sensor. I had mine showing me that the engine was boiling because of oxidized contact group in the back. As soon as I cleaned them all up and lubed them, all of it wend bye bye

I priced a Harmonic balancer at O'reilly at 45.99, not too shabby, just not looking foward on removing the old one.

Damn! This is unfair! The balancer for 4.0 is about $50, however the same thing for 2.5 is nearly $80. Sucks!

I'm checking the t-stat in a few, and I hope that dose solve the heating issue.

As for my Bears... they have a big game today w/ New England. If we win I'll be supprised

Good news I replaced the t-stat w/ a Fail Safe 180 degree, no more heat issue. My old stat was going bad. As for the squeak it has got to be my HB I will replace that tomorow...

Couldn't give a bigger f..k about watching any sport. I prefer hands-on participation. Sitting my ass down for that much time at a time to me is a colossal waist of time in addition to making me fat and lazy. No way in hell!!!! I like myself too much and there is a crap load of stuff I haven't seen or tried, so there you go - Bears? Good luck, I wish you win but I don't wanna see it myself
