Squealing!!

Can anyone tell me why my jeep squeals around turns when I'm straight it's fine when I'm turning it's just so annoying. I thought it was the power steering fluid but I just checked and it's completely full. Anyone help? Thanks

without hearing the squeel, it's kind of hard to try and diagnose, longshot...but how does the serp. belt look?

how about the tensioner pully?

Are your tires rubbing?

Sorry but I have no idea what either of those are I'm still kind of a beginner. If it helps anything, when I start it there's a loud squeal for about 2 seconds then it's gone. But the one on startup doesn't sound like the one when I make turns

with the jeep running, take a look at all the pullys, see if anything looks to be dragging. Can you describe the squeal? like brake caliper partially hung up?

the squeal on start up sounds like your serpentine belt (aka: fanbelt) mine does that occasionally. Still not sure about the other squeal. Keep checking back, there are some super Jeep smart folks that check in throughout the day and will have some more insight.

The sharper I turn the more annoying the squeal gets but it's not like a non stop squeal it's like off an on type thing if you get what I mean lol

hey, since you arent real familiar with motors etc, pick up a Chiltons or Haynes manual for your jeep when you can. That really helped me when I was getting started. And always keep looking here for assistance.

To elaborate on InfernoGirl's post, you can find them at just about any auto parts store (ie, Autozone, NAPA, AdvanceAuto) as well as most major book store chains.
