Starter grinding (another thread)

Hi all:

87 wRANGLER 6cyl, ba10/5, fLYWHEEL TEETH count # 164 ,built in Canada..

In a on-going effort to get my 87 back on the Road, I'm having difficulty with my starter. The starter was grinding extremely loud. Come to find out the Bottom starter mount on the BA10 was GONE!
So after replacing the bellhousing (left the Trans/t-case and clutch out JIK) I reinstalled the starter, and still got the bad grinding noise. The starter was a small light weight one with a Part # of 16848. I crossed it at Autozone and its the stock starter for a 88' wrangler. So I switched it out at Autozone for one, for my year 87' and got a Rather larger and heavier starter part#DL3209.

I installed the DL starter.. and it was still grinding (FML)... SO i took the bellhousing off and just put the starter in the opening where it goes.. I then see that the Starter gear drive is exactly inline/right next to the Teeth on the FLywheel..and that the drive teeth are a little chewed up in the middle....

I have no Idea where to go from here.... I need to get this Heep back on the road...I ask for your help please!!!
