starter making noise

Ok so today I tought my friend how to drive a manual in my 89 jeep. He did pretty good, and only stalled it a couple times. I droped him off, then went to work. When I got out of work, I turned it on and it sounded like dry leaves were stuck in my engine, but once it started up it didn't make any more noise. I'm pretty sure that everything in the engine is stock. Does this mean I need to get a new starter? If so where would be the best place to get one? Any sugestions would help, because this is my daily driving car.
