Starting problem, tryingto troubleshoot

Hey guys, im new to the site and have a problem.

I have a 95 rio grande yj with the 2.5L. Ive been having a problem with it starting lately and it keeps getting worse and worse.

I'l explain the conditions...
1) It started only happening in the morning after damp evenings.
2) Then it started to become worse and worse every morning, to the point where i would have to have it cranking for at least 2 minutes.
3)I have noticed that the motor only starts to turn over and try to start after the check engine light and upshift lights are
blinking.

**There are no unusual noises like a clicking or a rattling**

I have replaced the crank sensor thinking that might have been the problem since it was covered in thick oil residue, but that didnt help at all
The distributor does not have any water in it, and i left a fuel pressure gauge on the line over night to see if the fuel was running back down the line, but everything checks out..fuel isnt the problem at all.

I did check the ECU, and the gel that covers the electronics is cracked a bit. Is there a chance that moisture is gtting in there and shoting something out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

I have the same problem, pin 9 on the ecu connector is key switch battery positive, pin 3 is constant battery positive and pin 5 is battery negative. Check these pins for proper voltage.

I have a 88 2.5 with the same issue. It takes like 3 tries crankin it over to start then it kinda bogs out till it hits normal operating temperatures. Runs at a poor idle and constant misfires in the morning and if i let it sit for a few hours and start it back up. Timings OK. New MAP sensor, Crank Sensor, Cap Rotor, Wires, Plugs, Idle Control Motor. The only other things I can think that it can possible be are Coil , ECU, Fuel Injector, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Oxygen Sensor?

Before i know it im gonna have a new Jeep
