Still leaky YJ

I posted a while back about my 94 leaking...not like a few drops, but more like an inch of go****n water on the floor. Checked the vent up front, it's clear. New friggin cowl gasket yesterday, along with copious amounts of industrial grade silicone sealant. Roof isn't leaking. Any more ideas? Cause if I don't find something out soon, there is gonna be a good running(but slightly leaky) 94 for sale in the Pittsburgh area. Jeep can drive these things right up their Hershey Highway as far as I'm concerned.

Those leaks can be hard to pin point, You ever wunder why alot of floors rust out
in YJs that why.
Some take out the rug and drain plugs so the water has a place to go
Windshield cowling any rust holes? You could use a soft caulk under windshield
How good is your door/window seal?

were is it leaking from are u sure its the roof and not the air intake on the hood. its fairly common for them to get plugged up and leaking water from under the dash.

Check the joint between the body panels, where the hood cowl connects to the windshield area. I can't think of a better way to decribe it. But anyway the seam should have seam sealer in it, after 15-20 years it get old and falls out, now water can enter that seam and ends up under the dash all over the floor. Before I repainted mine I dug out all the old stuff with a knife and replaced it, no more leak. Also check that there are no open holes on the top of the windshield frame from old soft top installs, and if the windshield hinges have ever been removed the sealer around the nuts on the bottom half of the hinge keeps the water out, if it is gone you could have water coming in behind the hinges, though the holes and on the floor.

Clear RTV any place you suspect of being leaky. If you do this with care and smooth the bead with a tool, it's virtually unnoticeable, and a little bead can go a long way toward stopping water.
