i was looking to see if anyone has made a storage unit for their hardtop and hard doors? any homegrown ideas would be great. thanks for the help everyone!
This looks like a very good storage rack. I like it. Because...if you don't glue it... when it's not in use, you could break it down and stow it out of the way.
I did the math and the total length of 1 1/2" PVC is 64'.
Maybe Hotshot wouldn't mind getting us some price comparisons btn plumbing pipe vs. electrical, sch 40 vs. sch 80. Unit prices on the different connectors.
(If anyone is like me, the family accountant (wife), doesn't see Jeep stuff as "a need" only as "a want"...I know right!) So these things have to be planned out.
The only thing I would change/add is wheels so it can be loaded then pushed against the wall out of the way.
The top stands on it's end. The edge that mounts onto the windshield goes down and is supported on the front edge and the edges that meet the doors.
I believe the doors will fit in the other slot which would be inside the top when it's stored.
gotcha so would one door go in each slot? looks like a great plan if i can figure it out. helps that i work at lowes too so getting the pieces wouldn't be hard at all
agreed with the wheels i will check work tomorrow if i get a chance and list some prices
might even be about to hit home depot to check prices there too
