Stupid factory fuel hose....

So, I was running the Jeep after I had completed fluid change(s) and basic maintenance. So, in typical YJ fashion, something else had to go wrong. It started puking fuel out of the skid place. While I haven't figured out the exact issue, I decided to replace all of the hoses after dropping the tank and skid plate.

I noticed that one of the little lines on top of the tank was larger than the other. I thought it was curious, but decided it didn't affect me. I was wrong.

Apparently the hose that connects the send hose to the fuel line was a 5/16" to 3/8" hose that is a dealer-only item. So, I looked for an adapter of some sort. I only found one.

It's a Jeg's item:

JEGS Performance Products 15946 JEGS Brass Hose Barb Reducer/Adapters

So, what I'm gonna do is order one and use two different sizes of hose. I am aware that this creates two more failure points, but I don't like paying $20+ for a hose. It's gonna just cost a bit less, but I don't wanna have to look for a dealer hose if and/or when something goes wrong in the future.

I just post this in case you're looking for an alternative to buying the dealer fuel hose for the sending unit. If I'm out of my mind, let me know. If not, it's worth considering.

I've got a '93 with a 2.5l and a 20-gal. tank. Will the hoses outlined there match up?

Never mind. It's there. $24 bucks or so. Given that brass has no reaction with gasoline, the reduction adapter will work. So both options are viable. Using 2 different types of hose and the adapter costs about $20 total. I think I'll try it. Thanks for the link Master4th.
