I just blew the head gasket in my '95 2.5l and I'm looking at my options. It has nearly 200k miles on it, and I'm concerned there's bearing damage from the coolant in the oil. I'm really, really not interested in rebuilding that P.O.S. motor with it's horrible gas mileage and problems.
I've looked-into swaps before, but the price of adapter plates for the drive-train make me sick thinking about it. There's a junkyard that has half-price Wednesdays on already competitively priced stock and I can pull a motor, tranny, and t-case for less than $300 without core. Is there a complete swap that's good and cheap? I was thinking the 4.2 or 5.0 windsor from an f150, since my other car is a 3.8 windsor and have already rebuilt that.
I've never done a swap. I do understand I need the wiring harness, motor mounts, possibly a new fuel pump, what else?

In fact, I'd love to do a 4.2 swap specifically. I have all the parts from a '90 SuperCoupe to swap-in an m90 supercharger and it would be sick to do. Anyone with specific experience in this?
