I'm not 100 percent positive but I think they are like most of the Ford engines in the 70's. Torque the bolt to 16ft# and forget it, there is no adjustment. Someone correct me if I am way off on this...

another turn for lifters basically....I'm sure you have heard of a flat-tappet cam and a roller cam.

Thanks Ibuildembig, will talk to my mate who is going to adjust them for me.
I see you say that you weld....you dont have a 1st pipe section (exhaust) for a 1987 YJ ?
I have a cat box on the Wrangler if I get that taken out, will that improve the sound ie make it louder ? just want to make it louder, I love loud !!

Well my siggy refers to stereo equipment, not so much exhaust work. I would say that putting a free flow muffler and larger diameter pipe would give you the sound your looking for.

or just don't put a muffler on it at all and straight pipe it out the side. that should signifincantly blow your ear drums!

Not sure about the european versions, but most vehicles will loose power without a certain amount of back pressure caused by the cat and muffler. You can get a fast flow cat and a cherry bomb exhaust to give you a louder sound and still retain some of the low end torque. Otherwise be expecting a loss of power with a larger and more open exhaust..
Just my .2 cents ofcourse.

I agree with that on new cars but the older stuff the cat will actually hurt performance.
