TC keeps popping out of 4wd

As title explains my TC wn't stay in 4wd hi or lo. Its not the linkage as I have it disconnected and I am shifting it with a wrench on the bolt holding the tab on in the picture (not mine stole pic from another thread). It will go into 4wd hi and as soon as I hit the brakes going forwards it pops out but not in reverse. Make sense? Anybody have any pointers?

Check your linkage too see if its binding at all or maybe check the mounts on it also.
