teraflex shackles

Ok, so I've been seeing the teraflex revolver and z box shackles for years, and now I'm kinda curious about them. Can someone explain them to me? What are the pros and cons of each? How do they work? Are they safe for daily driving? Does any body have them?

The revolver shackles work under pressure and when you flex your jeep they straighten out and when your driving they are folded. It's to put less stress on your leafs. My friend/4wheelparts guy said that they aren't really made for dd because the shackles will be taking most of the weight on the road and not your leafs. So they'll wear out fast.

I've run the revolvers since back before they were Teraflex. I have over ten years on them now. The do feel a little different, but they work. I also removed the track bars and sway bars and get good flex. (Just because I did it doesn't mean you should, I'm stating what I've done not something to copy. This is not a warranty, and I'm not liable for what you do with your YJ.)

After ten+ years, they are looking worn and I will replace them at some point but they still function. They need to be lubricated, so get a grease gun.

In addition to opening up, and letting the wheel drop more, the also allow rotation. This is why I think they feel different when driving. Without sway and track bars, the axle is not located under the vehicle in the same way. Makes for interesting pictures.

Since there is a lot more drop than compression, it took me a while to figure out a shock setup that worked well with the revolvers.

I may look into getting a pair, as the yj won't be dd much longer.
