The best 4" speakers for the $

So I recently installed my soundbar (and by installed, I mean zip tied in place ) which has 4" speakers. I want to say it's a Jensen or something, 2 4" speakers on the outside, above the occupants then 2 lights in the middle that are press on press off.

Anyways, the speakers are old, and while they work great, I'm looking to get some new speakers that put out a bit more bass and sound. The lack of bass is hurting my ears. Anybody have some suggestions on good 4" speakers that work great and are inexpensive?

I was looking at these 4" Pioneer 2 way speakers:

Pioneer - 4" 2-Way Car Speakers with IMPP Composite Cones (Pair) - TS-G1043R

They seem inexpensive, and after hearing them at the local Pep Boys sound demo wall, I was impressed to say the least. Price is right too.

Or should I go with some JVC 4" 3 way speakers?

JVC - 4" 3-Way Car Speakers with Aramid Fiber/Composite Olefin Woofer Cones (Pair) - CSHX438

They're a bit more, but I'm wondering if 3 way speakers are a better choice over 2 way speakers?

Also, for the dash, what are good 6x9 speakers? My buddy has some kicker 6x9's and they are bad arse on their own, but i'm wondering if something like sony 6x9's are just as good?

Sony - 6" x 9" 3-Way Speaker with HOP/Aramid Fiber Cones (Pair) - XSGT6937A

I got some sony 140 watt speakers at Walmart and put them in the dash. They work great. Good sound and the bass is great. Need to change out my soundbar ones though, they are roadmaster's. Horrible IMO.

I bought 4" Sony Xplodes at Walmart for $33.00 and I used a jigsaw to make the holes larger in my sound bar and installed them there.

I picked up some Sony Xplode 5.25" 4 way speakers today from Walmart for about $40 for the pair. They didn't have 4" speakers like I wanted, but it looks like the soundbar speakers are 5" speakers anyways. I wound up ripping out the crappy dash speakers I was using and installed these babies in the doors- someone had already cutout holes for 5.25" speakers so I figured why not.

SO much better sound now. Have no problems hearing over the wheels, engine, and soft top, and the backseat riders can hear just fine too. As crisp as a new bag of chips.

Still looking to replace the sound bar speakers with some 3 or 4 way speakers, then get a new stereo. A woofer and 5x7 speakers should follow for the dash.

If you go on quadratec.com they have some good stereos for a reasonable price. I'm looking into ordering one for my baby.

If you are looking for a stereo, Walmart has one for $99.00.It has a removable face plate, MP3 jack and USB port on the front. The USB port is great, I can listen to music on my I-Phone and it charges my phone also.

Quadratec has a decent one, a Sony Xplod:

SONY CDXGT250MP - Sony® Xplod™ CDX-GT250MP AM/FM CD Stereo Receiver with Remote - Quadratec

Sofar so good with the speakers, and I have never had issue with Sony electronics. I still have one of their old TV's that works...

Shop on Amazon. You can get some really good speakers for cheap. Clarion is my preference. I've also used DB Drive in another vehicle. The stuff at Walmart is fine, but if you want real nice, search for them.

FYI never buy a pioneer "G" series speaker...that's their entry line. Step up a level or two and you will be happy

^^I only bought the Xplod's at WalMart because I was in the area and WalMart had the best price on them.

I'm still looking for a good 8" sub and an amp. Gotta go with an 8" because of the limited space, and I plan on building a custom center console to mount the sub in.

I learned a lot ab patience after shopping online for automotive stuff. Next time, im tellin you, Amazon. My 6x9s and 4x6s AND awesome stereo were 250 or smt like that. I suggest Clarion bc of their reputation in the car audio world.

Hope you dont blow them. I can have mine at full volume w no crackling

Yeah, preference is key, but quality trumps low prices, unless you shop online. I keep telling people this.

I currently have about $280 in speaker parts I want to buy to put in.

The first is getting a better stereo though, I am looking at getting an Alpine CDe-100 because it's got everything including subwoofer channels.

if you wont the best bang for your buck i would go with kicker 08KS400 4" 2-Way they are 60 watts rms rms is the true consistent power they are also reliable..trust me i have built some CRAZY suystome.I would never ever buy soney i rather have no speakers lol.I just did my buddies samurai i installed 6 6.5 kickers and 2 10inch cvt subs in a custom box its freaking ROCKING.. when i get my yj am going all out...lol
the cvt is made for shallow encosures.as for an amp i would get a kenwood they are really good amps and have build in fans so dont over heat and could take a beatting. for your application any amp would be good you dont really need anything crazy i would atleast get an amp with 400 rms

My opinion is to not buy stuff only by brand, but by features and settings. I have a Clarion CZ300. Some of these have bluetooth, not mine though.

The subwoofer I am going to get is a BOSS 10" low profile sub:

Amazon.com: Boss BASS1500 10 inch Low Profile Amplified Subwoofer with Remote Subwoofer Level Control: Electronics

Heard plenty of good reviews on it to get it, plus it's a low profile so it will fit underneath the rear seat. Space is the biggest issue, and hiding it is another concern. Out of sight, out of mind.

I've heard bad reviews about it, but those seem to be coming from the guys who's volume control is either all the way up or off. I'm not a fan of running equipment at or above its rated specs.

Sorry, I wont ever touch Pioneers crappy stereo receivers again. Alpine for me all the way, pretty much doesn't get any batter IMO.

No, I just won't touch Pioneer receivers. I've had 2 of them go out on me for no reason whatsoever. My buddy just replaced his and he's only had it for a couple of years.

So i told you the brand i prefer.... and it has proven it has balls. My stereo is not designed for boating or getting wet but it survived an incredible 5 hour thunderstorm, top was down that night. I was impressed. The speakers still sound perfect too.
