For a yj it is 2 each for the speedo and tach and 1 for the fuel and temp and 1 for the oil pressure and amps. 6 total. Try superbrightleds.com got mine for like $3 a piece!

87-90 require 10 total, 2 in the tach, 2 in the speedo, and 6 in the cluster.

91-95 I believe require 6 total, 2 in the tach, 2 in the speedo, and 2 in the cluster, but don't quote me on this. Can someone verify?

In the 91' series you need an additional one for the clock gauge right?

X2. Now I remember I picked up two extra. I would also suggest the 360 degree bulbs to spread the light more in the cluster for sure.

So the gauge cluster only take 2 lights? That sounds odd.

I think with the newer yj's, and this is jut from what jv read I haven't done my lights yet. I think the 90 degree ones will work. But then again the more coverage the better!!

Yeah I decided to go with these 194 LED Bulb - 5 SMD LED Wide Angle Wedge Base | Miniature Wedge Base LEDs | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs And order 2 red for the tac,2 white for the speedo, and 2 blue for the cluster, assuming that there are only 2 bulbs behind the cluster. 'MERICA!!

Double check before you bite off on these, I think for your year you need the 90 degree ones because of potential hot spots but I could be wrong. These are the ones in green that are 360 degrees

Yup simply pull out the old dingy yellow bulbs and pop in ur new, color of your choice LEDs. Best mod for the price! I used blue in my yj, took less than an hour. When u tighten your dash screws back on I'd be careful, my plastics got pretty dry rotted and cracked. I Had to use washers and a lil Velcro behind it. Prolly would've been fine with just the washers tho.

Let me get this straight. I have heard so many different answers as to how many bulbs it will take from different threads. A 1993 Yj will take 7 bulbs (2 tach, 2 speedometer, and 3 for oil gas temp and battery). Or is it 2 for the cluster and the 3rd is for the 4x4 indicator. Can anyone clarify please?

My 89 was 10. Six for the instrument cluster and 4 for the speedo and tach. My 4X4light isn't where yours is.
