I didn't make a safari top BUT I had a lady who is good with sewing make me a spidermesh screen. So I figure the same principles are at play.

Cut out your canvas and add abit more for errors to where you would attach to the roll bars. Then grommet every foot or so. Then use bungee cords with those balls that can be bought cheap. Another suggestion, if you know someone who has a good sewing machine that can work on canvas, get them to double up at the seems at the edges where the grommets would be for additional strength as you need it tight to avoid flapping.

Up to you but at any given time I can find 2-3 bikini top on craigslist in my area for like $35. Me personally, $35 is cheap enough that I wouldn't even waste my time. But that's me. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Seems like a lot of work, but on the other hand, I understand, those projects are sometimes fun to do, just to say you made it.

I purchased a top this spring from either Q-Tex or 4WDH can't remember, but it was a "Pavement End" top, paid about $35 to the door. Really a nice top for the $$.

I have an extra windshield channel but shipping it to you would probably be more than its worth. Where are you located? I'm in nepa

I used some old camouflage netting. Screwed the front under a windshield channel, and used zip ties to secure the sides and back.

It really doesn't flap all that bad. Even the little sounds that it does make, are still quieter than having the top on lol

Nice top Izzy. I couldn't find a tonneau that had the look I was chasing for mine so I made this from canvass. Been on for months and has held up perfectly but it does flap somewhat on the highway. But I think the top has more stress on it than this.

Thanks. Most of the time I have it like this. Kind of private but still open and accessible.
