This thingamajig confuses me.....

Any one seen this hanging around under their dash. I found a schematic of the under hood pic shows the black tube connection point as climate/cruise/4x4 but I don't have cruise. Haven't been able to tell any difference while in 4wd by pushing it. Seems to be a vacuum release? When the engine is on I can press the switch an hear an audible release of air. Putting a finger over the open port I can feel a suction when I press the button have unhooked both hoses and found no difference in driving whether engaged or not.

The first pic looks like the sending unit for the temp gauge. The second pic looks like it may be for the vent vaccum motor.

So should I keeps this thing hooked up and secure it back under my dash or can I get rid of it? Also @jokerchief what right side door vent? Could anyone send a pic of where it should be or if anyone has a link with it in a diagram that'd be helpful. Thanks

The vaccum motor that it controls is in the top right of the pic.

Thanks Laredo. I will have to dig in and try to find the route of the green line. I will also look into exactly how it runs that gate and if I'm missing a line off of it or not. If you get the chance to take a pic of yours maybe you could tell if there is another part to it.

I don't understand what the upper-right vacuum motor is for. It looks like it's connected to the blower motor switch (in the diagram above). Is that right? Doesn't that switch just control the blower motor?

Definitely worth a read. I wen through the whole thread earlier. Ill have tondo a bit more digging to really figure out how and why it does what it does but they touched on it enough for me to get a good starting point. I'm guessing the third port would be for cruise if my jeep was equipped.
