Turns out my front differential is shot. It's stock original and looking to upgrade it without breaking the bank (like most others).
Purchased the YJ just a few months ago and did very little homework before buying it. From all the dried mud all over the under carriage, under the hood and every little crevice possible, the previous owner did have a blast with it.
Now it's time to un-handicap this beauty and give it some new legs, ligaments, etc.
It's a 1989 YJ, 2.5, 2" body lift, 1" front and rear shackles, 31's.
Use it as a daily driver and will likely take it off road in the future, but not sure yet or how often I will.
With that said, I plan on handing it over to my son in the next year to two once he gets his license. He will probably do some damage in the tough terrains, so having the right equipment now is essential too.
What size diff do you recommend and are there any that can be used off other vehicles? Heard someone say that I could use a Ford front end?
Any/all advice and recommendations are greatly appreciated.
