I would imagine you may get lucky and can use some lube but what type. I would go to your local parts house and ask and then you will have to disconnect at each end and see how much lube you can get in. But while you are there I would be checking for klinks or has it moved lately to a new position from some other work. And then if no luck replace it. I imagine about an hour since you have to get the old one out and new one in throught the firewall.
