Throttle spacer, good, or a waste of money?

I'm looking at buying a throttle body kit for my jeep, are they a waste of money? Or do they actually make a difference?

They don't improve gas mileage a tad, or help with engine efficiency?

spacer

I have one on my 94' 2.5. Transdapt I purchased from Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030 There is not much gain. I notice it on a big hill I go over on the way to work,it feels to have alittle more in the upper RPM's. not as much gain as a larger throttle body.

The idea is to better mix the air and fuel by having a bigger plenum chamber, some even swirl the gasses with ridges (a restriction in itself.)

That works on carbs and throttle body injections - sometimes very well.

But if you have ported injection like Jeeps use, there isn't any fuel up there. Fuel is injected right before the intake valve.

If the air/fuel mix in the combustion chamber was swirling - turbulence - you won't get proper flame propagation.

So - throttle body injection or carbs it can help, ported it won't.

Don't fall for advertising lies!
