Throw out bearing

Hello everyone.

I have a '95 wrangler and just got finished replacing the transmission in it. I also replaced the throw out bearing. Now occasionally when you are driving it and push the clutch to shift gears it makes kind of a grinding noise. It doesn't do it all the time though. I was wandering if I just got a bad bearing from the store or if I did something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same thing going on with one of my old Mopars I had at one time. I don't like to admit it, but I had somehow left a bolt laying in there. I had to take it back down to get it out. Luckily, nothing broke. Hopefully, you are smarter than I was when I did that.

Well I figured out my problem. I had my fork in backwards, guess i wasnt paying attention. So if anyone is replacing a transmission be sure your fork is in the right way.
By the way amerijeep how did you make your thing say talks too damn much?

The administrators did that. I'm not sure if they change it per request. They did that poking fun. I'm sure one of them will see this and let it be known what the policy is on that.

Well bad news, still not working. I have just purchased a new clutch and pressure plate. Going to try that. Now I am looking at my old pressure plate and it looks like my throwout bearing is not riding in the right spot. My fork that goes across seems like it has nothing there to keep it in the right spot. It has that ball on the passenger side to hold it still and on the driver side has the slave cyl., but my question is if there is anything to keep your bearing from moving up and down? If anyone knows anything or needs more information just let me know.

Well guys I finally figured it out. If you look at the picture the one on the left is from my old tranny and the one on the right is from my new one. The parts are the cover that goes over the front shaft of the tranny. Pretty simple huh. And that caused me to pull my tranny 3 different times to look at the throwout bearing that was not being held right..... Stupid me...
