Tighten factory mirrors?

I have factory mirrors on my YJ and they are loose and never hold their position, is there any way to tighten them?

In the same boat. I have two mirrors but my passenger side is the worst. It will hold position for about 2 miles.

On the bottom of the mirror housing, at the pivot point, you should find a couple allen screws. They're difficult to get on, but they can be tightened.

the screws on the under side of the mirror are the problem. if you tighten tighten them the mirror is more stable. thanks for the tip CHL. idk how i missed those the first time.

Just checked this myself last night. So far driver side is good. Think the passenger side is shot it was all the way tight but still wobbles.

Ok so the only solution to this I found on accident. Behind the glass is 2 bolts that need tightened down as well. Yes I said behind the glass. My pass side was broken and I was curious. Well it worked. There should be 2 screws on the bottom of the mirror if I remember right that will help a little but those bolts behind the glass seems to tighten the swivel of it or something. Been too long ago and way too many beers.

Mine had just one bolt on the bottom. How does the glass come out? Without it being broken?

no idea honestly, mine was already broke so I finished her off. Maybe a heat gun could brake the glue loose and it would come off?
