Tire/lift compatability

I have a stock 92 YJ. I would like to by a set of 16X8 aftermarket wheels. What is my max tire size I can put on these rims and install on the jeep with out a lift kit? and do I need wheel spacers to avoid rubbing on frame on full turn radii. I am returning from Iraq and will be giving the ole girl a facelift. I appreciate the help.

If the springs are in good shape you should be able to fit a 30" tire, with maybe a little fender trimming. And as for the spacers, it would all depend on the backspacing on your rims. Spacers are a cheap way to cause expensive damage! Better to get a rim with less backspace to set the tire out and away.
