Your questions is a tricky one, currently, but with some detail, I'm sure we can help ya. What year YJ do you own, and what engine do you have in the JEEP (these are always helpful anytime you need information). It's helpful because it makes it easier to determine what other components may/may not be on the JEEP (under normal circumstances/from factory). Do you know which rear/front end you have. Some are stronger than others.
hey Dutch 95! i have a 87 yj with a dana 35 rear end in it. and i have the inline 6 motor 4.2ltr. the tires i have on it are 33x12.5x15. what do u think?
You should be alright as long as you don't intend to be doing any serious off roading.
If you're goong to off road, you might want to upgrade to a Dana 44 or Ford 8.8
Your gears are about the same strength across the board from 3.07-4.10. The weak point is the d35 axle shafts. With the set up you have that thing has to be a dog, meaning no acceleration power. Swap the gears to 4.10 or 4.56 and the jeep will become a lot more responsive to throttle.
