goto rustys off road and look for the cad eliminator kit.. comes with the block off plate and innerseal.. its a day job but not too bad if you take your time... gotta put in a few seals..
It's pretty simple I've done it on my 95 YJ and my current 89. Your 88 May have a c clip holding the inner ps shaft in so you will need to remove the diff cover. I used a small flathead screwdriver and popped the c clip out. Then you'll need to remove the caliber , and hub the outer shaft . Then the collar and inner shaft Takes about 1hr or so. You may or may not need a press to get the old shaft off the hub so you can slide the new shaft in the hub.
So by doing this I will actually be permanently making the front end a posi . When I shift into 4WD no more worry about the vacuum engagement or if I go with Cable

Your front axle WILL NOT be a posi. You will however eliminate the vacuum CAD and the need for a cable system.
With a solid shaft in the passenger side, it will force your front driveshaft to spin all the time, therefore it will need to be balanced. The YJ front shaft is not balanced from the factory because it is only meant to turn at low MPH. Not at highway speed.

I should have clarified my post stating it will basically make it like the posi lock but not needing the cables. But it won't be a posi rear. Like a locker of limited slip
